Zola

It means Silence or relax in Swahili, a South-African language. I’m a country girl who lives at the flemish forests in Belgium, who goes with the North- Sea flows. I love so much nature and animals, give me snow mountains for skiing and ocean waves for surfing. Life is music, Singing is my passion. Give me jazz, soul, disco, reggae and also country.

I have been traveling since I was a child, from Thailand to Bali, from Sénégal to Zanzibar

One of the most important things in my life is yoga. I Am a yogi since I’m a teenager. Even better, now I am also a yoga teacher. Because this is the only world I belong and where I can be my true natural self.

Yoga

How it began, 2015 - 2018

I practice yoga since I was a school teenager around 15 years old. I followed my first Vinyasa classes in the Yoga Academy at Antwerp, Belgium. On that time yoga wasn’t a hype yet in Europe

Later I found someone who gave yoga classes in my small farm town, which was very great. So I practiced twice a week Vinyasa Yoga.

Covid-19, 2020

Since Covid, Yoga started to be commercial.

During the quarantine period I started to practice more free online Yin Yoga classes on YouTube.

The Five Elements

The concept of the Pancha Bhutas, also known as the Five Elements, is fundamental concept in Indian philosophy, particularly in Hinduism and Buddhism. Pancha means five and Bhuta is element. These five elements are Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether, witch together form the basis of the groundwork for how we explore our class types and practices.

Zola Yoga has chosen the elements air and earth. This practice is about self-care and high sensitivity relief
